Fritz Premium Floor Finish Underlayment is a superior quality Portland cement based floor underlayment that provides a permanent, smooth finish for substrates prior to installing various floor coverings including Fritztile, vinyl composition tile (VCT) and sheet vinyl. Fritz Premium Floor Finish Underlayment can be applied to interior concrete, wood, ceramic tile, quarry tile, terrazzo and masonry sub-floors. Installation of many floor coverings can begin within 15 minutes when the Fritz Premium Floor Finish Underlayment can be worked on without damage to the surface.

Application:

Fritz Premium Floor Finish Underlayment provides a smooth finish and is recommended for use on most interior floor substrates. Use to smooth any surface defects such as gouges or cracks. Apply to dry substrates only. Constant or intermittent exposure to moisture will deteriorate the underlayment and floor covering. This product does not protect against damage from subsurface moisture emissions and is not a moisture vapor barrier.

Surface Preparation:

All surfaces must be structurally sound, clean and free of any residue which could prevent bonding. Remove any existing sealers or paint, curing and sealing compounds, dust, dirt, oils and any other residue or weak surface materials. If needed, mechanically clean the surface by grinding, sanding or sand blasting. Weak surfaces must be removed to provide a solid and clean surface. Do not acid etch or apply solvents. Substrate and air temperatures must be a minimum of 50 degrees (F) or 10 degrees (C).

Mixing Application Tools:

We recommend the following tools be available, mixing bucket, mixing paddle, steel trowel, margin trowel, razor scrapper and a heavy duty drill.

Mixing:

Mix a 10 pound bag of Fritz Premium Floor Finish Underlayment with 2 1/2 quarts of clean water or 2 parts by volume of powder to 1 part of water when mixing less than a full bag. Using additional water will weaken the mix and reduce the durability. Add the powder to the water in the mixing container. For best results when mixing a full bag, mix with a mixing paddle and heavy duty drill to a creamy smooth consistency. Do not add additional water. When mixing less than full bags by hand, mix with a margin trowel vigorously until lump free for 2-3 minutes. Make sure the mixture is creamy, smooth and lump free before applying. Pot life is approximately 15-20 minutes at 70 degrees (F) or 21 degrees (C). If surface skinning occurs remix. DO NOT ADD WATER.

Data is based on proper mixing at 70 degrees (F) or 21 degrees (C).

Mixing Ratio:

Per 10 pound bag add to 2 1/2 quarts of water. For less than a full bag, mix 2 parts powder to 1 part water by volume.

Coverage

Approximately 32 sq. ft. per bag at 1/8"

Packaging / Storage:

10 lb. / 4.5 kg. paper bag with a sealable top. Store in a cool dry area not exposed to direct sun. Remove air from bag and seal tightly. Shelf life is six months.

Limited Warranty:

Fritz Premium Floor Finish Underlayment is warranted against manufacturing defects for six months from the date of shipment. Fritz Industries, Inc. must be notified within six months from the date of shipment for defect claims. Fritz Industries, Inc. will replace the defective product FOB Mesquite, Texas 75149. Product replacement constitutes the sole and exclusive remedy for any claim under this warranty. Fritz Industries, Inc. does not authorize any statements to supersede or modify this warranty unless in writing from Fritz Industries, Inc. This warranty does not cover misuse, improper application or storage.

Caution

Avoid eye and skin contact. If there is eye or prolonged skin exposures thoroughly wash the area with clean water. Rubber gloves are recommended. If adverse conditions persist seek prompt medical attention immediately. Mix in a well ventilated area and avoid breathing dust or powder. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
